Mulroney should have known better

Kelly McParland of the National Post recounts the background to this drama fairly well.
A former prime minister takes envelopes stuffed with cash from an arms dealer, and doesn’t tell the tax authorities about it for years. The purpose for the payments aren’t clear. There’s no evidence he provided the services he later says he was paid to provide.
From the point of view of someone interested in legal ethics, there isn’t much to say. Brian Mulroney was a lawyer. He should have known better.
The profession has been ill served by his actions.
